1 Introduction

The Powertrain portal monitors the condition of a combination of assets such as drives, motors, bearings, pumps, and electronically commutated motor drives individually or as a part of a connected powertrain. The data helps to analyze the performance of the assets and take necessary action that can prevent possible failures.

Accessing the Powertrain portal

The Powertrain portal can be accessed via the Access management portal, which provides single sign-on access to all ABB applications.

To access the Powertrain portal, do the following:

  1. Launch the Powertrain portal. The portal redirects to the Access management portal for authentication.

  2. Enter your registered email id and click Login. ABB sign-on authorization page appears.

  3. Enter your ABB authorized email id and password. Click Login. The Powertrain portal opens and displays the dashboard screen.

2 User profile

The user profile displays the general information associated with a logged in user, landing page of the Powertrain portal, and imperial or metric unit selection list.

  • General - Displays the username, email id, language information and current organization (if available). You can choose the desired language from the list.

  • Landing page - Choose the landing dashboard page of the Powertrain portal, for example, Overall Condition, Powertrains, or Assets.

  • Units - Choose imperial or metric unit based on your requirement. The selected unit is reflected in all subsequent measured data. The KPIs are visualized and converted accordingly.

To save the above changes, click Save changes.

3 General concepts

Global filter

The global filter allows you to filter a combination of multiple criteria, such as one or more countries, organizations and sites.

Note:

  • If you need more filter criteria, ABB recommends to filter starting from the country, and then the organization and/or site.

  • If multiple filters are selected from a filter criterion (e.g. country), you can reset the filter with the remove button.

  • The global filter changes are applied to all the pages within the portal. The filter criteria can be changed at any time and in any relevant context.

Global notification banner

The global notification banner displays important information to the user, such as subscription expiration notification.

In the Powertrain dashboard, you can:

  • click on the banner to view the detailed information about the notification (e.g. subscription status page).

  • close the banner. The information banner does not display again in the current session unless it is retriggered.

  • some notification banners are closed automatically after a few seconds.

4 Main menu

Checking asset subscription status

In the Powertrain portal main menu, click Subscriptions to view the asset subscription details. If any subscription requires attention, then the user can see the notification banner on the Dashboard.

The below asset subscription statuses are shown:

  • Asset without active subscription

  • Asset with expired subscription

  • Asset with expiring subscription

 Bulk upload

Note: This feature is applicable only for drives.

The Bulk upload feature is used to upload the drive monitoring data manually to the Powertrain portal. For example, data of a certain period when the drive was not connected to the cloud.

The data saved in the SD card has a NETA unique ID and contains multiple zip files (signals, events, sensors). You can choose a day or month or year data folder by zipping all the files into a single zip folder and upload the data. If the file size exceeds 500 MB, you can create multiple zip files and upload in ascending order of date. If the bulk upload status shows Validating, wait until the data upload status changes to Done.

Note:

  • Make sure to upload the data to correct NETA-21 drives

  • Do not upload small files

  • Do not upload new data before uploading old data

  • Do not upload the same NETA-21 data again for the other drives.

Copying bulk data from NETA-21

You can copy bulk data from NETA-21 using memory card or NETA-21 web UI or FTP(s) server. After copying the bulk data, the zip file can be uploaded to Powertrain portal.

Using memory card
